'Bones':
T.J. Thyne talks Hodgins' hair in the 100th episode
By Korbi Ghosh
19th Feb 2010
The "Bones"
100th episode will flash back to one full year before the
pilot took place and, as T.J. Thyne (Hodgins) explains in
the clip below, we will see most of the characters meeting
for the first time.
So, naturally,
one of the show's major concerns was hair. For some characters
however, the concern was more complicated than for others.
"It's
very funny," says Thyne. "There's people that have
written to me and said, if they just catch an episode, they
always know what season it is based on the length of my hair."
Indeed Jack Hodgins did have a lot of locks back in the day,
so Thyne and series star David Boreanaz -- who also directed
the ep -- spent quite some time deciding what to do about
it. "There will be more hair for sure," Thyne reveals.
"Because it was a big fro when I did the pilot."
As for the tone of the episode, Thyne assures us that it won't
be dark: "It's very playful and fun and I think anyone
that's been actually with us the whole time, through these
100 episodes, will find it really charming. It's got that
'Bones' quirk to it and it's very fun. It's neat to see how
relationships developed and how the lab developed ... even
reading it, I found myself smiling ... [but] there are some
big surprises."

Bones
relationship 'to change dramatically'

Mayer Nissim, Entertainment Reporter
Emily Deschanel has told viewers to expect a dramatic change
in the relationship between her character and David Boreanaz's
on Bones.
The
actress plays the lead role of Dr Temperance Brennan in the
Fox show, opposite Boreanaz's Seeley Booth.
Deschanel
told Parade of their on-screen relationship: "It seems
to me that Brennan doesn't want a child unless it's Booth's
child, so we'll see where it goes.
"I
do want to see them get together and their relationship is
going to change dramatically at the end of this season.
"The
two of them have had this chemistry together. But, the physical
side of it has evolved very gradually. I think that's been
a great way to explore a relationship."
She
added of her character: "[I love] how flawed Brennan
is and yet, how strong and intelligent.
"I
think it is wonderful to have a character who has this great
strength along with a bunch of idiosyncrasies that provide
some humour to balance the grimness of her job.
"And
she doesn't pretend to be modest. I think it's endearing that
she calls herself a genius all the time."

'Bones''
John Francis Daley: Booth's feelings for Brennan will eventually
prevail
By Korbi Ghosh
26th January 2010
Last
week, "Bones" creator Hart Hanson told KTV that
the show's upcoming 100th episode will "place everything
in context" and "change everything" with regard
to Booth and Brennan.
A little one-on-one with John Francis Daley (Sweets) regarding
his character's part in ep 100 as well as the Booth-Brennnan
saga...
Sweets'
book release plays a big part in the 100th episode. It's what
prompts the flashbacks to Booth and Brennan's first case.
How badly do B&B react to Sweets' interpretation of them?
JFD: They definitely have issues with [the book]. There are
things in the book that are way off according to them. And
that's what sort of launches us into that flashback of six
years earlier. [They want] to fill me in on what I was wrong
about in terms of their relationship and how they first met.
It's fun for me, because I get to hear it from them first
hand, their first impressions of each other. They didn't like
each other at all when they first met.
But
Booth and Brennan definitely do like each other now. In fact,
Sweets knows Booth loves Brennan and actually talked him out
of telling her. Have the fans been giving you a bit of a hard
time about that?
JFD: You know, absolutely. Because everyone can clearly see
the sparks between the two of them. And it is frustrating
for my character to put a wrench in those gears. But I think
the truth [of Booth's feelings] will eventually prevail. Who
knows, maybe if they had told each other that they loved each
other back then, it wouldn't have worked.
Bones
renewed for a 4th Season
David Boreanaz and “Bones” creator Hart Hanson
report that the series has just received its season 4 renewal
for 20 episodes – with the popular Fox Network show
that also stars Emily Deschanel looking likely to location
abroad next season.
“Some
of the contenders are Spain, Monaco, Italy – it just
depends on how it gets put together,” Hanson says.
First,
however, there’s season 3 to complete. “Bones”
heads back into its post-WGA-strike production Tuesday to
shoot six more episodes for the current season – and
will return to the air with fresh episodes April 14.
This
is Boreanaz’ first season as one of the series’
producers, though, “I feel like I’ve been doing
that for some time. This is the first season I’ve been
credited. It’s great to step into those shoes, be more
involved on the creative side with specific scenes, character,
the actualities of locations…”
Last
year, he’d thought it might give him a little more leeway
in scheduling himself. That’s not how it’s turned
out. “The more responsibilities you have, the more you’re
grinding it out and working it. I’m actually more busy
now. I’m not scheduling myself out of any episodes.
This has enabled me to do more things and expanded my horizons,
meet other people, make more impact.”
Boreanaz
also tells us that he and Emily continue to work on their
characters with famed acting coach Ivana Chubbuck on weekends.
“We explore the relationship between these two. The
more we work on it, the more we come up with what I call ‘movie
moments’ as opposed to TV moments. I think you have
to continuously work like that, whether it’s the first
episode, the fifteenth or the 68th.
